New Year's Beauty: Puttin' on the Glitz

I have to say I'm pretty excited to start a brand new year (filled with all the hope and zeal that are synonymous with it). Whether you're hitting the town or staying in, you can capture the magic of that special night with your beauty products...really.

I give you my favorite sparkle-licious products that’ll have you stand out in a crowd, but not look, you know, tarty.

1. The Ultimate Bronzer

You might remember my interview with Carlene K where she shared her secrets on making the likes of "The Sing Off" host, Nicole Scherzinger, Kristin Cavallari, and Meagan Good look fantabulous. Well, she created Shine Body Bronzer ($29.99) and it is phenomenal. You can use it on all the usual suspects: legs, arms, decolletage and if you don't mind using oil-based products on your face, you can use it there, too! Personally, I use it as a highlighter.

2. Henna that Sparkles

If you're on Twitter with me, you saw the Luxe Glam henna tattoo I got at Trump Spa at Soho Grand. It was this gorgeous gold work of art that received so many compliments the next day. I conveniently wore a sleeveless top (of course). Akiyo is a genius and she's offering TOG readers 10% off her services at her studio in Queens.

3. The Brush Kit with Pizazz

You probably don't want to take the Sephora Antibacterial Brush Set: Sparkle Edition ($60) out on the town with you. I mean, you can, but imagine the horror of losing it! It comes equipped with seven brushes--all the tools you need for a full face and its black case is so glammed-out I could scream, but I won't...promise. Need to save my voice for the big day!

After the festivities are over, I'd suggest getting into the comfiest of the comfy. I prefer sweats (big ones) and a tank like this one from Threadless.
